Often people say that in the music field it has been invented already everything  and maybe this is true. Although, it could still happen that far seeing people could be able to use old changing happened in the past and use it in the present. This is what happened to Franco Rossi with the idea of the Ergonomic drum set . Franco Rossi, as a great inventor, brought in his idea from all has been happening in 20 years of collaboration of  his institute with international artists. Those collaborations helped him to create innovative solutions  for modern drummers need. If you think about that, you will see that the action range of a drummer is 90° as a privilege more for the right side of the body of vice versa. Let’s try to think about using other 90° with a logic and intuitive approach instead. How could it be possible ? Do not worry…Franco Rossi thought about that . The ergonomic drum set presents some advantages took from old ideas and used for modern needs. Having a look at this set , at first, it is not just moving the tom at the left side the news. The innovation is that  you can use the cable hi hat moved of 20/30 cm forward. In this way  you will be free of moving the left hand from the famous arms cross. The result will be more volume, more groove and more expression liberty without any effort. Besides , the first tom is  in the same line as the snare  and i twill be the base for any movement for tom and lateral floortom once on the left and once on the right. The second hi hat, on the right  side of the first tom, will  complete with the ride cymbal, the standard version of the ergonomic drum set. As a matter of fact we are talking about  all advantages that a drummer  could have using this set. This is the most rational and logical organization of the set , which is able to consider all natural movements  (that’s why is called ergonomic).The name “ergonomic” comes from ergonomics which is the science that study the relation between man and all the surrounding to obtain the best adaptation. This drum set will give to the drummer a 180° of movement action and the hugest way of expression in an intuitive way of playing. The realization of the ergonomic drum set considers also that nowadays the ambidextrous way of playing is more and more required (double pedal for example). So, the ergonomic drum set in this way is a step forward because   it will help the drummer to  naturally improve  the weak side of the body and getting closer to the ambidextrous. Think about playing keeping the time of the music not using necessarily the left hand  (S.Phillips, B.Cobham, D.Famularo etc.) but using the right hi hat of the ergonomic drum set which is on the right side of the tom. In this way the movement will be more comfortable and natural ( which is the opposite of using the hi hat above the floortom (as Franco Rossi have been doing for years because it was too far away in the traditional organization of the drum set).Also the arms will positively feel the advantages of playing more relaxed and comfortable. This set is suitable for every find of music; as a matter of fact it could be seen as a traditional set with a tom and a floortom from the  left  side to the right one. Franco Rossi, suggests also a study system based on the intuitive set of  drums  (A,B,C,D) which refers to the position of drums . This study makes the learning easier with exercises with the development of  new  sticking, new sounds and new combinations.  The steady repetition of the adjective “new” is  on purpose because we want to suggest to all drummers the way to be innovative , original, projected  to the future way with new instruments on the cutting edge. One of these instruments is the ergonomic set which gives at first the development of  the right use of the body and secondly will astonish costumers about its intuitive way of playing.
